5/11/2024 - klone99 Likes this wine: NROpened and decanted 1.5 hours, but the wine stayed pretty closed off until about 3 hours. After about 3 hours was excellent, with some beautiful fruit. Bought as part of a 15/16/17 vertical from LB and will probably sit on this for another 3-5 years before I try my second bottle. |

1/27/2023 - Shoomon Likes this wine: 90 pointsRefreshing with good acid, fruity with notes of red cherries and a great accompaniment with food. I paired with some simple crostini with evo, black pepper and grated Parmesan. Will have another bottle next year but drinking wonderful right now. |

3/30/2022 - Wild Boar Likes this wine: 91 pointsLittle sediment, light ruby color to the edge. Notes of minerals, light floral, and subtle fruit in the nose. Soft in the mouth with sour cherry and iron notes. Tannins are present in the finish and balanced acid throughout. Decanted for 2 hours, and last pour was consistent with the first. Served with a Prime Rib cap steak; showed well during the entire meal. |

10/25/2021 - pkbowen Likes this wine: 91 pointsEnjoyed after five years in the cellar. Nose is a little shy with nice spice, herbal, and red fruit elements, as well as some earthier undertones. Palate is framed by very fine, layered, accessible tannins, but a med(-) body. Flavors are quite nice, with vibrant red fruit entry; a spicier and earthier mid; and a med(+) length finish featuring a mineral, herbal, and earthy profile. Peak drinking now and for another couple of years. Excellent 91. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

9/26/2021 - jkvedar Likes this wine: 91 pointsVanilla, sour cherry, sour raspberry, some leather on the nose. Put this head to head with a 1996 Barbaresco. Medium + tannins, medium + acidity. Long finish. More or less popped and poured and paired with traditional pesto. |

5/24/2021 - Defcahn5 Likes this wine: 92 pointsDecanted 4+ hours. Color is ruby, nice deep Sangiovese look. Nose is candied cherries, sour cherries, whiffs of sweet petrol and earthy herbs. Rich in flavors of cherry and bright red fruit with hints of dark chocolate and orange zest and leather. Smooth tannins but firm acidity. Nice but not particularly long finish. |

1/11/2021 - bps2266 wrote: NRmedium ruby pour with light bricking. nose with lavender, cherry, clay, and spice. light bodied with medium plus acidity. sour cherry flavors with a long finish. not much tannin to speak of. this has aged into a nice food wine but never really showed the depth or complexity i am used to in a brunello. |

6/16/2019 - chrischap01 Does not like this wine: NRToo light, subtle red fruit and not much else going on in the flavor department. Garnet in color with a pronounced brown edge. Quite acidic, medium tannins. The fruit and tannins became more pronounced as it sat in the decanter, so perhaps it just needs a bit more time. Only the last glass, which I poured after about 3 hours of air, was at all enjoyable. |

3/26/2019 - thomaskeil wrote: 92 pointsOpened 3 hours before serving (was pretty open from the start). Brownish red. Nose of smoky cherry and some green herb/earth elements. Terrific palate with medium fruit, gritty expansive tannin and energizing acidity. Not particularly complex, but this was really interesting from nose through the entire palate experience. Great alone, but also a perfect match for a white pizza with blue cheese and grilled ribeye slices. |
