11/19/2023 - PatrikW Likes this wine: 89 pointsAmazing wine. When I as a young boy and running in the backyard with a pop powder gun, that is what I recognise when my nose hits the tip of the glass. Together with mangoes, pears, grilled lemon and yellow apple. |

10/30/2023 - ManuKey Likes this wine: 90 pointsQuel beau vin pour l'apéro! Excellente bouteille! |

7/14/2022 - SuperSomm wrote: NRMedium gold colour. Medium and developing nose with yellow apples, peach, pear, apricot, mango, honey and wet stone. Medium (+) taste of yellow apples, peach, pear, apricot, mango, honey and wet stone. Long and semi-dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Chenin Blanc from Anjou. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with cheeses, fish, salads or vegetables. |

6/21/2023 - Tudz Drkl Likes this wine: NRNose was slightly reductive at first but that blew off quickly then became green apples skin, straw and dust. On the palate, it is light airy mid palate but comes in as fresh underripe free apple and pithy grapefruit. It is nicely textured and sticks around. Very very nice |

12/19/2022 - grapenomad wrote: 87 pointsHad this blind, guessed Chardonnay from Beaujolais. Pale lemon in the glass. Very straightforward nose reminiscent of lemon peel, green apple, green melon and some passionfruit. Easy on the palate as well, refreshing, slick. No complexity, very simply made, but coming in a magnum this is a no-brainer really on an easy Sunday afternoon. |

11/7/2022 - BillyOsh Likes this wine: 91 pointsWow best Grange aux Belles I’ve tasted, ever. Superbly balanced. Medium Dark violet purple. Spicy, black raspberry meets black driveway asphalt in a really good way. Finish falls off but I enjoyed this bottle a lot. |

I drink a fair amount of "natty" wines but am increasingly more and more frustrated with the level of mouse I encounter in wines that are increasing in popularity. As per usual the mouse was there right off the bat on this one, but there was enough other flavor coming through that I was able to enjoy it somewhat. But on the second night, forget about it. Literally nothing left but mouse. Which is unfortunate because this is a delicate grape whose flavors I find charming. |

12/16/2021 - BillyOsh Likes this wine: 88 pointsSuper tasty 11 years in. Pencil lead, black tar macerated blackberries. But savory aromas and flavors far outweighing fruity flavors but in no manner a bad way. Tannins integrated but present. Alcohol is saying hello. Very happy with choosing to pull the cork tonight. |

4/14/2021 - bevetroppo Likes this wine: 91 pointsSometimes when drinking a beautiful glass of Loire chenin blanc, I think all other white wine grapes on the planet must be jealous-yes I'm talking to you chardonnay. Nothing else so effortlessly conveys ripe fruit, a host of complementary aromas and flavors, rippling acidity and textural excitement, to say nothing of food-friendliness. I think if I could only have one white wine this would be it. I don't mean this specific wine, oh you know what I mean... |

1/26/2021 - rmh66 wrote: 87 pointsAnother ancient bottle. On PnP, the nose showed a heavily oxidized wine, with celery and herb notes plus citrus. However, the next day, the sherry-like notes are much less. Still this probably should have been drunk years ago. Aromas of cider, deck stain, earth, sherry, chlorine pool, oregano, lemon, celery. (yeah, really) Lemon, underripe stone fruit, earth, hay, light sherry notes on the palate. Actually a pretty nice wine, though you have to have a tolerance for oxidized wine. |

3/17/2020 - Finare Vinare wrote: 92 pointsFrom La Roche de Murs, vineyard close to a Loire river tributary just south of Angers. Ripe and pure aromas of honey, quince, and chamomile. Fairly full-bodied, with excellent ripeness and concentration, balanced alcohol, embedded acidity, and tingling minerality. Truly outstanding chenin! And it might be the first time that sympathetic La Grange aux Belles perform at such lofty levels of quality. (Disclaimer ITB with Swedish importer Vin & Natur). |
