This wine has lots of dark fruit but also anise and oak. Tempting nose but palate was hollow and oaky. Very short finish with slight bitter edge. Too bad. This wine was fantastic in its youth and sort of attracted me to syrah for the first time. Now it's clearly a hollow shell of its former self.

Not sure if it was off, but funny tasting, a lot of oak, not integrated at all. Just not what I was hoping for. My guess is that it was off but not corked. Sorry to skew the numbers but I cannot check the flawed box...

This wine is forward, expressing dark, jammy fruit, and cedery resin. The finish is moderately long, and it is such a pleasure. Australian in style, no old world syrah here!

More like an australian shiraz, fruity, unctious, forward, and juicy. Tannins were soft and tame, and the finish was long. This was just an excellent syrah, even better than I remember.

They do such a great job with these mountain syrahs. Soft and deep, this tastes of cotton candy, cherries, a trace of leather, and earth. Long finish. Worth storing a few of these, given the supple tannins.
