Too bad I opened this bottle now....needs at least 3 or 4 more years of cellaring-or aggressive decanting to open up. Tannins are tough, and don't really let the fruit show. If you have this....wait. |

5/24/2011 - gotanygrapes wrote: 89 pointsBright and tasty, a little acidic, but not overly. Fruit is forward due to the varietal. This is a very interesting wine, and I would strongly recommend it, especially based on its price and it's region. Looking forward to tasting more from the Judean Hills. |

Great, great wine-there is no doubt that 2007 will be a great vintage for niagara. This wine is worth its price tag. Structured, tannic and complex-well done Stratus! |

4/28/2011 - gotanygrapes wrote: 90 pointsDark, purple and opaque. Heady on the nose, sweet nail polish-alcohol is strong. This is a fantastic wine. Complex flavour with well balanced fruit, tannin and alcohol, if not a little heavy in the latter. A nice long finish, this wine will age well in the cellar for a few years. This wine could stand up to any grilled red meat. |

4/24/2011 - gotanygrapes wrote: 88 pointsDark opaque and leggy on the glass.Fruit is forward on the nose, hints of pepper. Good tannic grip, a little heady, not a great deal of complexity, but a good wine, would be fantastic with a hunk of parmesan or really old cheddar. |

4/6/2011 - gotanygrapes wrote: 89 pointsPale in colour-looks young for it's age. Lemon grass and citrus on the nose. Beautifully balanced, grassy, sweet with nice tannin. Great price for a good wine. Will survive in the cellar for at least 3-4 more years. |

3/29/2011 - gotanygrapes wrote: 87 pointsA little nail polish on the nose. Tannic and oaky, but the balance is showing in this wine's maturity. Not a bad expression of rioja, but lacking some of the complexity of fruit that other bodegas of higher quality possess. Grippy and tasty for the price. |

3/28/2011 - gotanygrapes wrote: 90 pointsSpring flowers and grass, delicious on the nose. First-crisp and bright, very well balanced acidity with fruit and a touch of sweetness. The finish is earthy, almost meaty, a little brief but satifying for a reisling. This is a fine expression of alsace as it is mature now. |

5/7/2010 - gotanygrapes wrote: NROn the nose-fruit forward, field berry, refreshing and light. Typical french pinot. Colour is dark but typical for its age. On the palette-it is young, with a strong tannic grip. The balance of fruit and tannin is on the right track. Slightly acidic, oaky, but the fruit is still there. This is an elegant wine, which could be cellared for at least 5-8 years to let the tannin mellow. It will be a stellar wine if cellared but you can really enjoy this if it is decanted for a good hour. Totally worth the money! Pair with any mushroom dish, or chicken. I would recommend this wine to be shared with someone whom you love....regardless of reciprocity!! |

4/9/2010 - gotanygrapes wrote: 70 pointsThis is a weak wine. Fruit is very forward, strawberry and cherry. Highly acidic and one dimensional a lame finish. I would not reccomend this wine at all, when there are so many other's that are better at this price. |
