11/5/2015 - ghoztly Likes this wine: 90 pointsAlmost opaque inky violet color. Nice nose, fruity and floral. Fairly bold zinfandel, fruit forward but not over the top. Slightly astringent in the finish. Mild tannins. Simple wine start to finish, not a lot of depth. Decent everyday wine, but not mind blowing. Do you find this review helpful? 2/25/2013 - ghoztly Does not like this wine: 84 pointsAfter reading all of the high user ratings on this Merlot, I was really excited to try my first bottle. I've got to say I was quite disappointed. I've had some true 90's Merlots and this one wasn't in the same league. Although it does have some fruitiness, I found it to be a bit watered down with a very strong mineral undercurrent. This provides a lasting aftertaste that is not pleasant. I expected a big bold Merlot and this was not the case. To each his own I guess, but this one will not be a repurchase even at the $16 price paid for it. |

1/5/2013 - ghoztly Likes this wine: 88 pointsA fairly sweet red Bordeaux blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Deep inky coloration with big, bold flavor. Would like to see a tad more restraint from the fruit side, but overall a fantastic QPR. Would love to see Sangiovese added to the mix. |

11/17/2011 - ghoztly wrote: 84 pointsGreatly disappointed . This is a very subdued Cab. Dry, lacking fruit, flabby, light bodied, and a finish overpowered by strong notes of licorice, vegetable matter and minerals. Shame on me for dropping $50 on a wine not deserving $15. |

11/9/2011 - ghoztly wrote: 89 pointsVery nice Petite Syrah. Full of fruit, but not to the point of being a fruit bomb, nice spice and some tobacco. Good tannins. Would buy again, but would like to find it around the $15-17 mark, rather than the $20 I paid first go round. |

Tart black cherry, raspberry and blueberry on first taste, followed by peppercorn, spice and tobacco. Soft tannins and good acidity. This is not a bold wine. It comes across as fairly thin and dry. It's a decent wine, but fairly boring. |
