Brief recollection: elegant, floral nose, very expressive and charming, with cherry, toast, spice.

Initially closed, structured with prominent but finely-grained tannins, I was worried this bottle was opened prematurely.
One hour in decanter turned this wine upside down.
Displayed broad aromatic range, pure & nuanced flavors of dark cherry, anise, eucalyptus, balsamic and roses, supported by incredible purity of fruit and finesse on the palate, together with bright acidity in the back, this was the best wine I ever tasted from Cogno. Bravo

I think this style is not for everyone. Some people find this wine too acidic. Not me. A welcome dollop of freshness resembling Bugundy wines of yesteryear, after 3 consecutive very ripe vintages.
Despite its modest appellation combined with a lighter vintage character, this wine doesn’t lack substance nor structure.
Always aromatically complex and expressive - a staple of Pataille wines, 2021 vintage added a touch of freshness, together with elevated levels of acidity. On the palate the wine is elegant, vibrant, herbaceous, earthy, spicy, with mostly red fruits and floral notes. A great fit for roasted bird with herbs and grilled red fish.

A brief taste.
Quite lean shy and reticent out of the gate.
Citrus, green apple and wet rocks dominate the nose after popping the cork. Quite lean yet pure, focused on the palate.

30 mins later in bordeaux glass gains significant weight, displaying more depth and richness on the palate, adding a touch of fresh pastry, roundness and generous mousse, while still showing restraint and focus.

A very pure and elegant style of wine.
Give it some time in the glass, let it warm up.
Based on performance, it needs more bottle age.
Open in advance.

Excellent Barolo normale.
Quite shy in the beginning, it strted to blossom after 30 mins in burgundy glass.
Purity and elegance were on display with bright, floral, cherry, balsamic aromas.
It was drinking exceptionally well for its level. A re-buy

Similar to Brothers vyd in terms of highly expressive nose with coffee beans, liquor cherry and eucalyptus. Brigh & expressive nose with nuanced fruit and herb notes.
On the palate an elegant, layered mouthfell, againg with an added lift and nuance, freshness and a touch of highly appealing herbaceousness. Sensual and savory

Brief impressions from memory.
Shows ripeness of the vintage while retaining good balance throughout.
Dark cherry, black raspberry, spice, purple flowers on the nose and same on the palate. Despite density, quite a good lift, medium acidity, minerally finish. A very good wine and def a crowd pleaser

Coming out of a modest appellation, this was a big surprise.
Jumping out of the glass with complex yet nuanced, pure notes of orchards fruits, citrus, linden flowers.
Showed medium body, density and persistence on the palate, with pronounced minerality and a long finish.
This drinks like a baby CC with more nervosity

GCS portfolio tasting.
Poured last, for a good reason.
Ripe, toasty, slightly reductive, expressive nose, lots of complexity.
Tremendous presence on the palate, dense, long, yet vibrant, thanks to bright acidity and purity of mostly orchard and citrus fruit. Ripe but never heavy, retaining a sense of balance with great tension.
A virtual blend between purity & raciness of Roulot and density & richness of Coche.
Wine of the tasting for me

An ethereal, mind-blowing wine, a quintessential grand cru burgundy, with so much going on in the glass, dont know where to start. This wine will give you a ton of emotions and remind why you drink burgundy in the first place - it has it all.
On the nose a basket of spice, dark fruits, chetnuts, black tea, warm earth, violets. On the palate deep, extremely complex, long, sensual.
Fully mature. A wow wine!

The last bottle of the lot purchased back in 2016.
This is fully mature, drinking well out of the gate.
Drinks stemmy (yet fully destemmed), spicy, red fruited, floral, coffee, chestnuts, earth. Transparent, weightless, feminine, yet aromatically complex and expressive. This wine is in its own league.

No formal notes, only emotions. (Dg 2016) Deep, concentrated, exuberant, with tremendous complexity yet never loses a sense of balance. An absolutely insane bottle of wine!

They say it is too young, but at 6 yrs of age it should be providing a more complete drinking experience. Overall shows very little detail & energy that I was looking for. Consistent showing compared to 6 months ago.
Dense, juicy, vibrant, long, complex. Never comes off as remotely heavy or extracted. Balanced. A stunner of a cab and a great value at current price.

Second bottle with consistent notes. Clear in appearance, but dense, extracted, woody and musky.
On the palate black cherry, black currant, brown sugar, nutmeg, earthy notes. Medium concentration & body, medium- intensity and quite low acidity, which I find unusual for the vintage. Lack of supporting acidity and inner tension makes it feel heavy and dull.
Overall lacks finesse, tension and expressiveness of a good vosne and comes off muted, especially on the nose. Decent but not great.
