«ALL THE BEST MÉDOC VINEYARDS LOOK ONTO THE RIVER»
With three hundred years of history, Loudenne is one of the oldest estates in the Medoc region.
The vineyard of Château Loudenne is located on two gravelly hills that slope gently down to the estuary. The proximity of the Gironde river and the gravel which reflects the sun’s rays, reduce the risk of freezing, favor growth of vegetation and help the grapes to ripen in the fall. Most of the famous Médoc Grands Crus are located like Loudenne, in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde river. This privileged terroir contributes to the unique complexity and finesse of Château Loudenne wines.

Created in 1880, Loudenne Le Château white is the oldest white vineyard of the Médoc area. The white is located just on the foothills of the red vineyards benefiting from the same microclimate created by the Gironde river. The clay-limestone or clay-gravel soil on a limestone sub-soil are favorable to the expression of the Sauvignon aroma and the microclimate enables the Semillon to ripen perfectly.
