Beginning in the year 1720, the Monniers have been winemakers in Mersault, control of the domaine passing from father to son. The family vineyard ownership extends today to 16 hectares (35 acres) and it is one of the rare domaines of the Cotes du Beaune [sic-- assuming the meaning of this part of the vignoble around Mersault] producing at the same time both white and red wines. Plenty of strong ancestral experience and following upon the successes of their predecessors, Jean-Claude and Nicholas [Monnier] continue to lovingly make and look after wines in the cellars of their ancestors. They offer from Mersault, Puligny-Montrachet, Volnay, Pommard, and Beaune, the wines of the Domaine; the wines of the winemakershowing all the subtle qualities of the terroirs in what they make. translation by John Trombley
Depuis 1720, les "Monnier" sont vignerons à Meursault de Père en Fils. L'exploitation familiale s'étend aujourd'hui sur 16 hectares et est l'un des rares domaines de la Côte, produisant à la fois, des vins Blancs et des Vins rouges. Forts de l'expérience ancestrale et poursuivant l'oeuvre de leurs prédécesseurs, Jean-Claude et Nicolas continuent, dans les caves de leurs ancêtres, à vinifier et soigner amoureusement leurs vins. Qu'ils proviennent de Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Volnay, Pommard ou de Beaune, les vins du Domaine sont avant tout des vins de Vigneron, portant en eux toutes les qualités et les subtilités du terroir où ils sont récoltés.
