Bellevue Estate

Producer website

Note that Bellevue Estate adopted the name Morkel for their wines because of export copyright/trademark issues with the name Bellevue, however they also have a top Pinotage named after P K Morkel. They also use Houdamond and Bellmore brands

In 2017 the Morkels sold the estate. The new German owner is instituting changes, among them is a single vineyard wine named 1953 from the old block of Pinotage planted in 1953 first released late 2017. It is the 1959 vintage wine from this vineyard that was the first varietal Pinotage ever released, marketed by Stellenbosch Farmers Winery in 1961 under their then brand name Lanzerac. The Lanzerac brand name for Pinotage was sold to Lanzerac Estate in the 1990s.
