2010 Le Macchiole Paleo Rosso

See wine details

From producer website:

The year was marked by a late growth cycle, due to a cold and rainy spring, which forced us to postpone harvesting. We focused on helping the vine concentrate on ripening the fruit and on the practices intended to lighten the foliage and allow for more air circulation to reach the grapes. The good weather at the end of the season contributed to the production of grapes in excellent conditions with the right amount of polyphenols, sugar, acidity and aromas. The high day/night temperature range in late August and September helped the grapes preserve all their typical aromas and made the wines acquire good aromatic complexity. The wines appear to be fresher, with a lower alcoholic content compared to the past vintages. Both whites and reds display marked mineral notes, powerful aromas and a good tannic structure supported by excellent acidity.
