A textbook, near perfect vintage. A cool, wet spring delayed budbreak while providing ample moisture for the first flush of root growth when the vines did awaken mid April. A warm dry May precluded any frost damage, and June stayed steadily cool while the growing shoots received plenty of sunshine, allowing for uniform canopy growth. By July, the vines all had a healthy complement of leaves as the first of the summer heat was upon us. The remainder of the season saw temperatures remain fairly even and consistent which promoted balanced ripening throughout the vineyard. The resulting wines will bear this out.
