2010 McPrice Myers Syrah Larner Vineyard

Larner Vineyard: Located in Ballard Canyon’s western most area, coastal
winds and fog layers combine to produce one of the coolest spots in the entire
Santa Ynez Valley. The Larner’s 33 acres are planted to Syrah, Grenache
and Viognier in addition to the "Larner Clone" Grenache and Malvasia Bianca.
Winemaking: 40% whole cluster fermented in small, open top bins, and spent
20-25 days on skins with pump -overs during cold soak and punch downs
during fermentation. Aged 20 months in 265 and 228-liter barriques.
Keywords: espresso, rhubarb, raspberry, creosote, volcanic mineral, basalt,
loganberry, nori, tobacco leaf, white pepper, fresh sag, garrigue, sturdy
tannins, bright finish
