2005 Pax Syrah Cuvée Christine

See wine details

Winery Note:

Once again blending a wine like this is always a blast because with each component that you incorporate the more fascinating it becomes. The primary source for this wine is a beautiful Syrah planting at the base of Spring Mountain on the Sonoma side. When it is all said and done the 2005 Christine will have Syrah from seven sources including Lauterbach Hill and Walker Vine Hill so anticipate a layered, concentrated California Syrah loaded with ripe tannins and good structure that is ready to tackle a Lamb chop upon release.

(Preliminary Blend)
100 % Syrah
80 % new French Oak
14.26 % Alc by Vol
3.98 pH
725 cases produced

Tasting Note:
Blackberry pie, creosote, summer fruit compote, wood-smoke, fresh espresso and pepper lurk in the thick aromas of this wine. In the mouth supple but intense fruits, spices and crushed stone flavors lead into a thick mid palate of sweet black & blue fruit pie. The finish is quite long and extended by ripe tannins that give this monstrous Syrah a pleasingly clean finish of salty extract.
