Highly perfumed aromatics akin to wild strawberries then changing to red cherries, tea leaves and wet clays and soy sauce. Some secondary aromatics from the barrel elevage giving a wonderful earthy and dark roast interplay. the pedigree of this pinot noir clone is from a famous vineyard and we often hear of tell-tale similarities in this wine as in the pinot noirs of the Cote du Nuits. However, with the Sonoma Coast climate and all of its warm summer afternoons give this cuvee a real intensity of power in and across th palate. Suggested to drink now til 2012.
