2018 Montecillo Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Moon Mountain District
From the 1960s plantings at the beautiful Montecillo Vineyard, this is one of the last wines from the fantastic 2018 vintage that we will release. Always a dense, mountainous style of Cabernet, the 2018 has been one of the slowest wines of the vintage to gradually unfold and show its core beauty. Savory, with almost an element of Peychaud bitters and redwood bark tincturing the muscular dark Cabernet black currant and pepper complex, this will reward some time sideways but promises to be one of the most memorable wines from the 2018 vintage. $70
