  August 28, 2022 - My birthday, just my wife and myself. I knew this would be wonderful and it was. Hard not to hum the theme song from Camelot when I drink this and think back to a great time in the California wine community. We reached a peak in those years and have lost our way since. Too many egos and too much money now.

  I get your point, which perhaps could be made about other successful wine regions.
  
  Regarding California, I was under the impression that there may be a trend towards more authenticity of late. And wouldn't you say that estates like Ridge have always kept a reasonable profile?
