    November 13, 2022 - This well stored half bottle was given two hours to shed its oddball gluey phenolics, and did lose some but not enough. Maybe an off bottle here. Too much burnt tire and horse sweat. Not without its ginger spice cookie, wild blueberry and brambly green herb charms, and I love these wines when they’re right, but this isn’t. Tried it with mustard butter crusted steak and kidney pie, and good acidity helped it show better,, but not enough to merit a higher score. Her non interventional winemaking often produces great rewards, but also a few too many bottles like this.

    11/13/22, 5:50 PM - Yes....burnt rubber and glue, are def faults in the wine. Just a bad bottle.

    11/14/22, 9:40 AM - agreed; yes, but seeming ethyl acetate and mercaptans appear and blow off in her wines quite often. Even when that doesn’t happen, there’s enough left to enjoy the bottle with food, as I did here.

    11/14/22, 10:42 AM - Oh, I get you. In general, I've had that happen with a few other bottles in my cellar, and I will likewise, consume with food if it's no longer off-putting. I did not know this is a regular occurrence with this maker, however. Thanks for the info. I'll look out for it from now on.
