November 22, 2022 - Pale lemon. Expressive nose. Bright on the palate. Medium body. The fruit lacks some depth - it is early - but there is already very good length. Fresh acid throughout. Listed at only 12%. So pretty austere. Some white pepper / spice on the finish which adds to the sense of length. There is just a little skin contact here in the extended press time I believe. So maybe the pepper is really some tannin. The hard part is how to describe the fruit flavors. Not so much citrus. Perhaps underripe pineapple notes but without any connotation of tropical warmth. Edgy and racy. Full of interest. May present some challenges at the table - but serves really well as an aperitif. From original rootstock Prie grape grown in the highest vineyard in all of Europe. Has the structure to last. Worth the price of admission. My first experience with this.
