December 12, 2022 - The '18 Brunate is among the top wines I've had in '18, a vintage I have not been a fan of overall. It comes across to me as a smaller scale, somewhat more savory version of Rinaldi's Brunate, but still has the beautiful sweetness of fruit I found lacking in some '18s.

On the nose, I found sweet dark red plum fruit, a hint of purple / blue sweet hard candy fruits, sweet red roses, and roasted meats. On the palate, the wine is medium to light in body and super finessed with minimal tannins, medium to high acidity. The texture of the wine is such that it's drinking very well today. I found red plum fruit, smoked meat, sweet roses again on the palate, with the wine ending a bit more savory with smoked meats, sweet spices, dried roses, licorice, and herbal tones.
