December 1, 2014 - Terroir-istes International - France, Bordeaux, Léoville Barton (Rodwell House): Mid crimson showing some tertiary development with a combination of red and black fruits.
A lemon acid entry with a wonderful richness and ripeness of fruit. Concentrated with excellent extraction, plenty of bitter chocolate, chalk, mulberry, herbs, and frozen red and black fruit. Full-bodied+ the tannins are firm and densely packed, unyielding at first but started to show better later in the glass. Certainly a tang to the acid, there is some whiffs of oak with tree bark and dust. Although challenging, this upright wine is athletic, muscular, and currently in a good place.3 people found this helpful 3,435 views
