  December 17, 2006 - This was the best bottle of Champagne I have ever had. The 1996 La Grande Dame was near perfect. Beautiful golden straw color with tiny bubble. On the nose I remember candied green apple and toast. So so smooth and delicious with perfect acidity. The only reason why I did not give this a perfect rating is because it is so young. I could tell this has some development to do. I will revisit as many times as possible until either the wine dies or I do...cheers!
