September 21, 2009 - Much better on day 2 after opening. Ruby color with good legs. Vanilla, cherry and oak on the nose. Strong fruit of cherry, plum, and blackberry on the palate. High acidity and very firm tannins. Long, enjoyable finish of dark fruit, cedar, and underbrush. Paired really well with food: basil nocchi with heavy cream gorgonzolla sauce with butter roasted hazelnuts and greens. Great value for the price.
