  October 27, 2009 - another fabulous '05 Barbera, almost on a par w/ Conterno Cascina Francia in this vintage, and not far behind the great '03 version of this wine. Juicy, rich stuff, w/ almost Nebbiolo like aromas of fresh fennel and rose petals. Decidedly Barbera on the palate, though, with the tell tale luscious acidity, and distinctive ripe sour cherry notes I associate with the variety. No trace of the reductive problems mentioned by Antonio in his WA review.
