  October 28, 2008 - This bottle was included in a blind wine tasting with a '04 Rubicon Cask, '06 Caymus Cabernet, '02 Stags Leap Fay Vineyar, '99 Beringer Moncroft Mountain Merlot and 2005 Justin Justification. The '01 Opus came in third behind the Rubicon and Caymus. All wines were decanted a minimum of 2 hours prior to tasting. The '01 Opus One still feels young in the mouth with loads of tannins that are now just starting wane after 7 years of cellaring. Made in the traditional Napa meritage style Opus continues to delight with well current and balckberry with a hint of pencil shavings and well rounded oak.
