  November 20, 2009 - A rather huge nose of slightly stewed and macerated fruit with hints of chocolate, ripe berries, and herbs (marjoram). Plentiful fruit does not excuse the over-ripe quality. Boozy, lush, and hedonistic with little nuance. Tonight, after picking up and drinking Novy and Cayuse Syrahs at retail, popping this at the end of the evening definitely suggests it's bedtime. Excessively sweet and very cocktail-like. Incidentally, I loved this wine at release. (81)
