  January 4, 2010 - This showed extremely well in rather noble company: waves of earthy aromatics, from dry leaves through truffles, tar and dried porcini, with light violet overtones in elegant counterpoint, and hints of sweet stewed plum. A pure, clean garnet, it was full and long, with still a hint of unresolved tannin. Slightly dry on the palate, perhaps, but very satisfying, and clearly a pristine bottle, showing at absolute peak- this is why I love Barolo! One left.
