February 12, 2010 - Valentine dinner at Morton's, Portland, OR. Cork and bottle in perfect condition, full decant and about an hour of air. Nose initally non-expressive, classic balanced tannins and acids. Nose woke up after about 90 minutes to really nice blueberries that weren't present in the wine itself. Fairly short finish, I suspect that this is now at its peak. I would recommend 2 hrs air, primarily for the nose to develop, but it's fine to drink soon after the decant. Very decent with the double cut filet, though not as complex on the palate as other QC's that I've had. I still have a few more bottles and will be curious as to their status.... A very good, classic cab, although not exceptional.
