February 27, 2010 - Minneapolis Wine Club Spanish Reds (Anna's House): Dark purple. Nose of spice, dust, cherry, and floral. On the palate it features an abundance of spices, vanilla, oak, cherry, crushed rock and floral. Medium and concentrated finished. This wine was decanted 4 hours and it really opened up. For $25 a super value. I wonder if others who rated this so low didn't decant?

2/28/10, 10:14 AM - As one of the ones who (really) didn't like this wine, it wasn't a case of decanting (I've drunk it several times, each time trying it over several days). I've tried other bottlings from the producer as well. They all have a really rough and unintegrated character to me and seem overworked. Even more unfortunate, though, is a really artificial and chemical component to the wine, perhaps from the wood, or who knows where. Just my $.02, glad other people like the wine better.
