March 15, 2010 - The nose is just amazing, layer of perfumed fruit and spice, can't get enough. Tropical fruits, spice, touch of pepper attack the tongue, surprisingly viscous, almost like a dessert wine in mouth feel, extremely dry, no sweetness, finishes with a waxy greenness and some bitterness. Unlike any other gewurz I've had. Unfortunately, the alcohol is out of control on this one, it was really noticeable. I would gladly trade a little RS to have a little lower abv on this one. I really alternated between loving this and hating it because of the high alcohol.

3/16/10, 2:10 AM - Thanks for the up front mention of alcohol on this...I think some people could really stand to know the alcohol level in some wines before purchasing...I think 15% might even be a little low on this as they are given some "wiggle" room when they bottle wines....

I've subsequently chilled it a little further and it's definitely helped with the high alcohol. The extra alcohol definitely gives a nice weighty feel to it, which increases my enjoyment of the wine.
