March 27, 2010 - Oh, sh*t! Drank this today at the winery along with their Columbia Valley Red. My God, this is good, I really can't imaging what this glorious spirit will be in 5+ years. Oodles of beautiful fruit in evolving balance with the tannins. Finish seems to last forever, great mid-palate. This is a wonderful drink right now even though it is obvious that it is too young and begs to be laid down. I spoke with Paul (winemaker) about this effort and he convinced me that it really is his best effort to date. I see no reason to doubt him on this. Color is deep ruby purple, magnificant legs. This 2007 reminds me of the 2003 rather than the 2005 and may well become my favorite bottle of wine. I'm on the list and picked up a case of the 750's and a mag, now I wish I had bought 2 cases. Regardless of the "pro" scores (which haven't yet been released), I have no doubt that this is a really special bottle of wine in a great year and destined for classic status. For the last several years, QC has run circles around better known boutiques like Screamiing Eagle at a fraction of the price. Go find some -- even in the secondary marketplace it's a better buy than most Napa's. I'm really now awaiting the Fall release of the Galatzin and Palengat vinyard bottlings which should also be really great.
