April 9, 2010 - Color: A transluscent Violet with a light ruby rim
Smell: Earth, smoke, violets, black pepper, olives, and sweet oak
Taste: Faint vanilla leads into blackberries, blueberries, licorice, and bloody meat.
Overall: A very well made wine that offers structure and a clear "new world" frame without being over the top or feeling uber-extracted. This is a very elegant Syrah that reminds me what it is I truly love about this grape. There can be power and elegence in the same wine that will stand up well to a simple grilled steak or could easily support many vegitarian dishes...well done1 person found this helpful 5,480 views
