  June 1, 2010 - Mid purple in the glass, nose of black fruits smoke and minerals. Initially appears sweet and fruity - very approachable - but then follows through with more tartness and tanins than might initially be expected. Slightly funky, but in an interesting way. Improves with an hour or two out of the bottle. Good value, even in Japan!
