  November 18, 2010 - Sigh. Sad to see it go. Classic Latour and really flirts with perfection for this vintage. Not a huge wine for the very long term, but there are simply no issues here with thinness, lack of fruit, greeness, or balance. At this stage, it is showing great Latour cedar notes, but it is still very primary and basic in its evolution - the colour, the nose, and the mouthfeel are still very much "purple". Needs another 10 years to show the complexity for which one really buys this stuff. At the moment, a 1996 Cos came a surprisingly close second. 94 this evening and 95+ for potential.
