  January 19, 2011 - First Day - Popped and poured from cellar. The wine was too cold. My initial tasting was that the wine was thin and tasted of alcohol, not a very good start. Second Day - Better. Red fruits, smooth acidity, more body, better alcohol integration. Some Volnay finesse but not much Champans terroir. This is my second 2004 Cote de Beaun and, while there is not an abundance of fruit, I did not detect the controversial 2004 greenies here. This wine does need more time but suspect that it won't make old bones. I will try another bottle in two years. 87+
