  January 26, 2011 - I think this wine has amazing potential. However the nose was very disappointing as it was shockingly ripe and obviously from California. The body has tremendous depth and strength yet is not heavy or overbearing. Tart. Fine Tannins. Interesting mid palate of crushed rocks and a very long finish. Occasionally a hint of spices. It will be interesting to see where this goes in 10 years. Opened up nicely over two hours. I would like to try a vertical of this vineyard and see how this compares to the more recent vintages as Rhys continues to refine their style.
