  February 12, 2011 - decanted. color was a fairly dense garnet with a brownish red tinge. nice fruit in the bouquet, although still tight in the nose. opened up over the course of several hours with nice minerals, fresh moss and some spiciness. moderate fruit. still quite a few tannins in this wine after 21 years. may mellow further over the next 5 years, although the fruit might diminish further. somewhat disappointing based on the year and producer.
