March 25, 2011 - Color: Garnet, clear with a tiny bit of haze. Some bricking at the edge. Nose:Licorice, forest floor funk, and some febreze. On the palate: A bite of acidity up front, then restrained, mature, aged fruit brings into balance. Medium bodied, the midpalate brings some citrusy notes to some mild spice and dirt. The finish transition is pretty seamless, and overall the tannins are soft and mellow, but I'm getting significantly more acid on this bottle. Kind of refreshing though. Paired with a from-scratch homemade pizza.
