March 28, 2011 - A rather limpid ruby of medium intensity in the glass. This starts off very masculine and although I'm used to the oak regime implemented by Bouchard since a few years I'm still surprised to the rather pronounced dark toasted high tones coming off initially. This is followed by remarkable breath and freshness on quite an array of fruit, roasting and spice impressions with an intriguing gentle floral dimension. The palate shows real substance and intensity coming off fleshy, very fresh and supported by a resolute tannic structure. Some extra complexity would be desired here but the character this shows just makes up for that. Reby: yes.
