  May 22, 2011 - It's said there are no good vintages, just good bottles. Well, here I bumped into a great bottle...Dark in color, but not opaque. Deep, musty oak on the nose, & not much else. Beautiful palate: Rich, brambly fruit upon entry, but never overpowering or jammy. Brightly acidic through the midpalate, but never tart. Pleasantly tannic on the back, but never bitter. And absolutely gorgeous black pepper rounds out the very end. Have paid far more, for far less...Definitely going back for more. [14,6% abv.; $7.50].
