  November 12, 2011 - Found a great deal on these at a local wine shop, and thought I'd commit infanticide on one. A packed-and-stacked Clos des Mouches. Powerful, juicy dark fruit and anise/block licorice flavors, with a pungently minerally backbone, complex fresh herb notes on the midpalate, and silky tannins on the long finish. This is young, but not painfully so -- it's very structured and quite backward at age 6. To my palate, no signs of heat or overripeness. At least 10 years away from really strutting its stuff -- this will be quite elegant in time.
