December 1, 2011 - Tasting Group Dinner - Burgs & Northern Rhones (Tilia, Minneapolis): I last tasted the 2001 Rousseau CSJ five years ago, and this bottle showed a nice evolutionary progression. While still firm, it is beginning to unfold and should be really rocking in another 3-5 years. Dark cherry fruit; deep, enchanting, and long on the nose. Very Gevrey in character -- masculine and brothy. Turns bigger and a little less pungent with air. Silky texture; lovely acidity; long finish.
