  December 15, 2011 - Decanted for about 30 minutes. Tar, current and blackberry with a touch of bitter orange (slightly astringent, similar to Campari) on the nose. The wine has opened up nicely and really is drinking well. Nice tannins and some fruit showing through. Mostly dark fruits, current, blueberry, blackberry but not jammy at all. A touch of tar and leather too. Really well balanced and aching for a lighter steak or some duck. This would take a backseat to a rib-eye or venison but would still be nice with both. One of the best values I have ever had frankly. Glad I have a case. Drinking well now but I will try to wait 6 month before I open another; this could do well to lay down for a while.
