  December 20, 2011 - The bottle was a gift and had it with pea soup tonight. Deep garnet color with wonderful fruity nose. On the palate it has massive plum and black cherry. It's "thick"/syrup like but in a good way, no tannins to speak of, extremely smooth, long finish. Except for the lack of sweet it is somewhat reminiscinet of drinking a tawny port.
