  December 21, 2011 - decanted for 60 minutes, maybe too long. nose has dark muddled fruit with beef and earth. the palate has plum with earth, mushroom and a dark mineral note. the tannins are completely integrated and the wine started out very smooth. problem is, over 3 hours, the acid became stronger and stronger with each glass, and was fairly harsh by the last glass. probably a textbook example of an older wine falling apart in the glass. drink now, or drink it quickly.
