Community Tasting Note

January 8, 2012 - I have to admit I didn't expect much form this wine as the tasting notes below weren't positives, but now I have to say I enjoyed this Matallana a lot. Mid-cherry colour, on the nose I found aromas of Mediterranean-style wines (balsamic notes, coffee, plum, blackcurrant) on a creamy background and hints of raspberry. On the palate was spectacular: strawberry, blueberry, creaminess, some coffee, meaty and mineral flavours. Well structured, light tannins, excellent acidity, long finish. In the end chocolate bonbon and violet flavours appeared. A wine full of nuances, easy to drink but also complex, paired perfectly with pasta dish with leek and cream sauce.
