February 10, 2012 - Pure joy and well worth the monicker of liquid gold. The wine closed a dinner in which we enjopyed some beautiful whiotes (76 Corton Charlemagne, 01 Pavillion Blanc, 78 Latour, 95 Mouton Rothschild and 86 Mission Haut Brion). The first bouquet was full of apricot , honey and lemon creating a an amazing experience of sweet smells that waft through your senses. The initial taste draws a golden creamy draw which hits your palete beautifully with citrus fuits and hoeny balanced in a slight acidity that keeps it all together. The draw and taste lingers on for a long time in a classic D'Yquen manner that no other suaternes quite manages. The wine was a true vision of perfection. Whilst far younger than the the three clarets I enjoyed that evening, this was without a doubt the best of the evening.
