  April 6, 2012 - Fragrant nose of rich currants burst from the bottle during the decant. First pour 10 minutes in reveals some power/alcohol that masks the original wonderfully fruity nose. First tastes have a grainy grape feel with an angular alcohol finish. Despite the great tease on the decant, a rather pedestrian wine on the palate. Hopefully the alcohol blows off and the fruit returns to bring some flavor back to the juice. Although the alcohol has softened with some time it remains overwhelming to any hopeful fruit. The wine remains hit or miss for me and despite its decent QPR standing, I don’t have a lot of affinity for this bottle.
