April 16, 2012 - Popped and poured. Interesting aromatically... red cherry, tilled earth and a touch of oak, but with an odd grilled fish type of smell. Guesses at a flaw, yeast type, dirty glassware, or restaurant-imparted smells were thrown around, though the aroma did subside a bit with air. Quite forward and accessible on the palate, with red cherry fruit up front, framed by good acid and a spice quality on the mid palate that keeps things interesting. Not quite up to Pavelot's 09 Serpentieres but a very well made wine nonetheless.
