May 11, 2012 - I didn't remember this as being one of my favorite OL wines, but for the price point I am very happy. This Zin digs more into its primitivo roots a bit tasting more like a Tuscan red, rather than a Paso Zin. A deeper tannin structure than your typical fruit forward Zinfandel. There is something slightly barnyardy, (in a good way) with hints of black cherry and rhubarb. A little hot, but still approachable. I give this wine an extra point just based on the value.
