Upon opening, it was pretty closed down with just some green peppers supported by a strong mineral profile (mainly a ferrous taste) which was not pleasant but an hour later the dark fruits and tannins exploded and the complexity and power dominated and improved as the night went on. This was more full bodied to me (than medium bodied based on the previous notes) but it walked the line in terms of a fine and balanced finish.
